New Zealander's are able to enter Australia visa-free and there are no restrictions on the length of stay.
Most other nationalities are able to travel to Australia visa-free for the first three months of their stay; a tourist visa is required for longer stays. You will need to have a passport which is valid for at least six months after your scheduled return to enter Australia.
EU nationalities need to apply for eVisitor – allowing multiple entry into Australia during a 12 month period, and allowing up to three months stay each time. eVisitor can be applied for online at least two weeks before intended travel, and applicants must be outside of Australia when they apply. Application is free.
Working holiday visa
New Zealanders don't need to a visa to work in Australia. People of many other nationalities, between the ages of 18-30 can apply for the Working Holiday visa. There is also a Second Holiday Maker Visa allowing seasonal work in regional Australia for a three month period.
