Enjoy the craic with the Work Ireland programme

What will I be doing?

On Work Ireland you are permitted to take any job, anywhere in the Republic of Ireland.  You can work in the same job for the full duration of your visa and you’re allowed to work within your chosen profession.  However, it’s recommended that you don’t plan to start the programme during December and January as during these months it is often difficult to find work.

What does it include?

  • Application of your working holiday visa on your behalf (visa fee not included)
  • Pre-departure support, including information on employment so you can get started before you leave
  • €10 to assist you with your transport from Dublin airport to your hostel
  • Two nights hostel accommodation and breakfast in Dublin
  • Dublin Orientation including maps, hostel guides, discount guides and more
  • Assistance obtaining a PPS (tax) number
  • 12-month access to USIT's Dublin Resource Centre (the Irish support partner)
  • Work Ireland Handbook
  • Telecommunication card worth $5
  • Advice and assistance from USIT on job and accommodation hunting, including a top recruitment agency speaking to you after arrival orientation
  • Mail holding and forwarding
  • Access to social events
  • Ireland Lonely Planet guidebook.

Am I eligible?

You need to:

  • Hold a New Zealand passport valid 18 months after your visa commencement date
  • Be aged between 18 and 29 years old (inclusive)
  • Be travelling on an onward journey ticket, or extra funds in excess of $200
  • Show proof of NZ$2500 funds when applying for your visa.

What does it cost?

From $695 (your visa application fee is a separate cost of approximately $145)

Note: Immigration of approximately €100 is payable within one month of your arrival in Ireland (USIT will assist you with this on arrival)
