Day 1 Bocas del Toro
Arrive at any time. Orientation after being met at the airport and walked to your homestay.
Days 2-6 Bocas del Toro Spanish Lessons and Volunteering
This is the perfect place to study Spanish and volunteer. Bocas town is a fun place to live and the home stay is shared with other students so you’ll have plenty of friends to explore Panama with. After morning Spanish classes, you can go to two different projects to volunteer with the elderly or help with English lessons at a local high school. The Archipelago of Bocas del Toro is made up of 6 islands, only 2 of which have roads and services for tourists. The islands are unique in many ways. The islands and closest shoreline form an isolated pocket of lowlands between the mountains and swamps of most of nearby mainland. As a result there is much wildlife found only in this region and nowhere else. The islands are mostly covered in rainforest, and have spectacular beaches perfect for sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling or diving. *To establish your Spanish knowledge level, please arrive at the school at 7:50am (local time) on your first morning where you will be given a quick oral test. The school is open from Monday to Friday and closed on weekends.
Day 7 Bocas del Toro
Depart at any time. Add on extra weeks if desired, with no maximum length of volunteering.
