High Five to the best city… New York!

Spread the love

This week, I’m sending a High Five to one of the world’s greatest cities. New York has that rare ability to deliver on a variety of levels. The wholesome expanses of Central Park echo the swollen flows of the Hudson River, while the sounds of Broadway permeate the myriad flavours available throughout the Big Apple.

This is New York City: the city that never sleeps.

This is a steaming manhole cover.

This is a baseball stadium.

This is a yellow taxi.

This is a hotdog.

This is NYC.

Before we hit you with a quintet of New York highlights, we should give you a heads up that getting over there has never been easier. We have some great flights to New York City right now that could be just the ticket you’re looking for.

If you thought New York City was all pastrami and avenues, you’d be wrong. There’s an unspoken thrill at the heart of the city that will give you an unforgettable view of Lady Liberty. Jump aboard “The Beast” speedboat, with captain’s Mad Dog and Wild Thing, and hurtle around the city’s waterways while you’re cheeks flap around your lugholes.

Flying high among New York’s most desirable attractions, has to be a helicopter ride. Put simply; there are no better vantage points to take in the city’s famous skyline. Look down on King Kong’s favourite perch, the Empire State Building, or give a wink to the Statue of Liberty, or snap your favourite spots from your sky-high throne.

Swagger along Museum Mile (between East 82nd and East 105th streets) and take in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, and the Museum of the City of New York. Elsewhere, visit the Brooklyn Museum (one of the oldest art museums in the USA) and the utterly fantastic, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

New York’s high green line, the Greenway, is a great way to journey through the city on two wheels. Made up of three sections, the longest — and most heavily used bikeway in the USA — stretches from south Manhatten’s Battery Park to Dyckman Street in the north of the city; with most of the route tracing the island’s riverside fringes.

Follow in the footsteps of Carrie and crew as you walk your way through the city. Visit the Pleasure Chest, where Charlotte bought her ‘rabbit’; the bakery where Miranda and Carrie indulged in cupcakes; have a Cosmopolitan in Aidan and Steve’s bar, Scout; and visit locations from SOHO and beyond. This isn’t just for the girls. Much.

So what are you waiting for? It’s never been cheaper to fly to the Big Apple than right now. Book that flight, and those New York dreams will come true very soon. Check out our cheap flights to the USA!
